Smooth and round organic matcha from the famous tea region of Nishio in Aichi.

Along with Kagoshima, Aishi Prefecture is known for producing Japan's finest organic matcha teas. The region's excellent climate and ideal soil conditions make it perfect for growing green tea, especially tencha. More than 25% of Japan's total matcha production comes from this area. Thanks to a special blend of nutrient-rich, organic fertilizers, the tea develops a particularly deep green color and delicate, unique flavors. You can find more information about the individual growing regions and their characteristics here.

To grow our organic Futatsu Matcha, the plants are fully shaded (>90%) for at least four weeks. Due to the almost complete lack of light, the tencha develops a uniquely smooth character with subtle hints of fruit and nuttiness.

The first-harvest leaves are hand-picked, gently dried, and then traditionally ground on granite stone mills. Due to the powder's extremely fine texture, the matcha can be stirred quickly and easily, forming a firm and dense crema. Our Futatsu, with its gentle and subtle character, is suitable for both usucha (thin) and koicha (thick) teas. The powder is particularly rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and high-quality proteins. The matcha is sourced directly from the farmer in Japan. In addition to the requirements of the organic control body, each batch is tested for radioactive contamination by a German laboratory.
