The quality of matcha is primarily influenced by the length of shade and the type of leaves selected (first or second harvest). The price serves as the simplest indicator here (at least with KARU): the more expensive the matcha, the longer it has been shaded and the more carefully the leaves have been selected.
This also means: the more expensive, the milder and more delicate the taste.
For mixed drinks (e.g., matcha latte), choose a tea that isn't too mild (i.e., shaded for a long time)—it would be lost in the milk/oat milk. We recommend Itsutsu or Yottsu.
